Cookies and browser choices at Imperial Wins
Our guide explains cookies in plain language and gives you steps to manage them in your own browser. Imperial Wins runs in the browser on desktop and mobile, so cookies and stored site data shape how a site behaves from visit to visit.
Players reach us through Chrome, Safari and other mobile browsers, and some add a shortcut to the phone home screen. Each of these keeps its own cookie settings, so a choice made in one browser does not carry over to another.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of information a website asks a browser to store. It lets a site recognise a returning browser, keep a session working and remember a choice between visits. A cookie is plain stored data, and the browser decides how long to keep it.
Consent and changing a choice
Browser controls hold your cookie choice. You can remove stored cookies or limit new ones whenever you like, and the change applies from the next page load. Clearing data can end a signed-in session or reset a remembered preference. Keep that in mind before you clear anything.
Cookies from other services
Some web content is supplied by another service, which may set its own cookies. Review that service’s notice and your browser’s stored-data view before deciding whether to keep those cookies. Browsers list third-party cookies separately, so you can clear them while keeping first-party cookies.
Mobile browsers and home screen shortcuts
Imperial Wins can be added to a phone home screen as a progressive web app shortcut. A shortcut opens through the browser that installed it, so that browser holds the stored data and the notification settings, and the same browser menus change them. Clearing data in a different browser leaves the shortcut untouched.
Managing stored cookies
- Open your browser’s privacy or site-data settings.
- Review the cookies stored for Imperial Wins.
- Remove selected data or change the browser’s future cookie permissions.
- Reload the site and sign in again if the session has ended.
- On a phone, repeat the steps inside the browser that holds your home screen shortcut.
Updates to our cookie wording
We revise this wording when our cookie information changes. The date line shows which version you are reading, and a newer date signals that a section has been revised. If you saved an earlier copy, compare its date with the current one before relying on it.
Kinds of cookies in general
Cookies are usually grouped by what they do, and browsers show them in their site-data view:
- Session cookies keep a visit working and disappear when the browser closes.
- Persistent cookies stay stored until they expire or you remove them.
- First-party cookies come from the site you are visiting.
- Third-party cookies come from another service that supplies content on a page.
- Browser settings let you block, allow or clear each group.
- Private browsing windows usually discard cookies when the last private tab closes.
